As the second ship in Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Series, the 2,910-guest Celebrity Apex debuted in 2020 with virtually identical spaces and amenities as its older sibling, 2018’s Celebrity Edge. These ships are easily distinguished by the Magic Carpet, a bright tangerine-hued capsule on their starboard side that can be positioned on several decks and used as an overwater lounge, dining venue, or tender-boarding station.
The Edge Series also introduced Eden, Celebrity’s three-level lounge, performance, and dining space; the Rooftop Garden, a whimsical top-deck retreat with modern sculptures and an alfresco Rooftop Garden Grill; and a cohesive Retreat enclave for suite guests, complete with its own pool, hot tubs, and sun deck. Celebrity Apex has many of the contemporary-meets-bohemian design details featured on Edge (and on 2022’s Celebrity Beyond and late 2023’s Celebrity Ascent), including modern art installations, eye-catching furnishings (especially chairs), and vibrant fabrics and carpets.
Dining-wise, Celebrity Apex offers eight complimentary dining venues and seven specialty restaurants (for an extra charge). Four of the complimentary restaurants are the Main Dining Rooms — Cosmopolitan, Normandie, Cyprus, and Tuscan — each of which offers an exclusive selection of three appetizers and three entrees based on its culinary theme (New American, French, Mediterranean, and Italian, respectively) in addition to Celebrity Signature and Classic menu items. Among the specialty restaurants, Eden is worth experiencing for its large selection of globally inspired dishes (including a seven-course plant-based tasting menu). Fine Cut Steakhouse is an elegant option for carnivores, while Rooftop Garden Grill is for those who enjoy their meat or fish grilled or smoked and accompanied by comfort-food sides.
