Celebrity Reflection
With its fifth and final Solstice-class ship, Celebrity Cruises went a little bit larger and ritzier when it designed the 3,030-guest Celebrity Reflection. The line added several extravagant suites, and the ship’s museum-quality art collection is unforgettable — on the way to dinner, look for Jeff Koons' "Mirror Flower." While this vessel hasn’t yet been “Revolutionized” with Edge-Series amenities like its Solstice-class siblings Equinox and Silhouette, Celebrity Reflection remains a chic floating oasis at sea, especially for couples who love a ship with sophisticated design, dining options (there are 12), and fun spots to socialize.
What We Love
The Sunset Bar: In the evening, head up and aft to this "hidden" hangout, decorated with casual South Beach-style furnishings, and listen to a guitarist singing classic rock tunes while the sun sets.
The Lawn Club Grill: Celebrity Reflection features a half-acre of grass up on the top deck, and in a corner of the lawn is this open-air eatery where, with the assistance of professional chefs, you can play "grill master" and cook your own meat for dinner.
Art Classes: Guests who want to get in touch with their artistic side can visit The Art Studio for classes by master artists in sketching, painting, and jewelry making.
Best Known For
The Spa: Spa lovers can choose from an extensive menu of more than 100 treatments, and relax in cushy spaces, including the Persian Garden thermal suite. For an immersive spa experience, stay in an AquaClass stateroom or suite.
High Design: From the classy Main Restaurant with its two-story glass wine tower to the adults-only, indoor Solarium pool with its plush loungers (some for two), to the soaring atrium, smart contemporary design rules on Celebrity Reflection.
The Shower: The most-hyped feature on board is the shower in the top suite. Even if you're not in that cabin, you can spot it near the bridge: a glass, pentagonal-shaped structure that actually cantilevers off the ship so that the person showering can view the sea, way down below.
Who It's Good For
Grown-Ups: Couples ages 40 and up looking for a splurge will get the most out of this ship, which features inviting places to sip fancy martinis in the Martini Bar, sample a variety of global wines in Cellar Masters, or enjoy craft cocktails in the World Class Bar.
Don't Say We Didn't Warn You
The Cabanas Are Blah: The eight private cabanas (available for rent for big fees) in the Lawn Club break up the parklike view on the top of the ship, and mean less hangout space for the rest of us. Plus, they're not as popular since they aren't by a pool.
