Crown Princess may carry more than 3,000 guests, but it never really feels crowded. A popular vessel in the Princess Cruises fleet since 2006, this ship features a bustling three-story atrium and a wide array of pools (there are four, plus a splash pool), nine bars, and eight restaurants. The adults-only Sanctuary on Deck 17 requires a fee, but it’s well worth it to relax in the serene setting. Meanwhile, kids and teens can escape to their own separate sanctuaries at Camp Discovery. Dining venues include the traditional grand dining room, several casual spots, plus specialty options (for a fee), such as Crown Grill for steaks and seafood, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria for authentic Italian cuisine, and The Salty Dog Gastropub for gourmet burgers and pub fare.
What We Love
The Piazza: The three-story atrium plaza is a hub of activity — with “street performers,” singers, and musicians — making it the perfect place to people-watch.
Movies Under the Stars: Settle into a lounge chair, get cozy under a blanket, and enjoy some popcorn as you take in a first-run movie on the enormous poolside LED screen. It’s as much fun as any drive-in.
Poolside Casual Eateries: Enjoy some of the best slices at sea at Slice Pizzeria on the Lido Deck. Are burgers, tacos, or pulled pork sandwiches more your thing? Then stroll a few yards to The Salty Dog Grill.
Best Known For
Onboard Activities: The sheer depth and breadth of programming, day and night, is almost exhausting. But there really is something for everyone every minute of the day, including lectures, karaoke, yoga classes, and wine tastings.
Kids Programs: From the pajama parties to the cool California Science Center workshops, the under-18 set will never be bored. In fact, they might ditch their parents as much as possible to hang out with their peers.
Who It's Good For
Multigenerational Groups: This ship literally has something to appeal to everyone in your group, from the excellent kids clubs to classes for the adults. There's plenty of room for spending time together, too.
Weddings at Sea: Don't be surprised if you see more than one bride; the ship is a popular wedding venue.
Don't Say We Didn't Warn You
Anticipate Upselling: The focus on add-ons — from beverage packages to spa products — gets old fast.
